A quiet moment for a quiet morning.
Morning Rain — Extended Yohaku
I heard the rain first —
soft taps against the bedroom window,
a gentle insistence
that morning had already begun
without me.
Still warm from deep sleep,
I reached for my coat,
dragging it with me
as I stepped outside,
half-dreaming,
half-drawn by the sound.
The rain was softer out there,
a quiet falling
that made no claim on the world.
The only sound
was the delicate drumming
on the hood of my coat—
a private rhythm,
meant only for the one who listens.
I stood still.
Cool drops gathered on my face,
each one loosening
the last threads of sleep,
washing them gently away.
So I lifted my face to the sky,
letting the morning rain
wake me fully—
body,
mind,
and soul—
in the simplest way it knows.
Five minutes,
nothing more.
Today the rain woke me. I put on a coat, stepped into dawn… and looked like a man who had forgotten slippers exist!
Poranny deszcz — yohaku
Usłyszałem deszcz —
ciche stukanie o szybę,
jakby poranek
zaczął się beze mnie.
Wciąż ciepły od snu
sięgnąłem po płaszcz
i wyszedłem,
prowadzony dźwiękiem.
Na zewnątrz deszcz był łagodny,
spadał cicho,
nie domagał się niczego.
Tylko rytm na kapturze —
dla tego, kto słucha.
Stałem nieruchomo.
Chłodne krople
zmywały resztki snu
z mojej twarzy.
Unoszę głowę,
pozwalając deszczowi
obudzić mnie —
ciało,
umysł
i duszę —
w jedyny sposób, jaki zna.
Pięć minut,
nie więcej.
Dziś obudził mnie deszcz. Założyłem płaszcz, wyszedłem na świt… i wyglądałem jak człowiek, który zapomniał, że istnieją kapcie!
